December 2008
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
We just celebrated Thanksgiving in our country, and we truly have plenty to be
thankful for. We have seen young and old alike come to accept the Lord as their personal
Savior this year. It is exciting to watch people as they start their new lives in Christ. We
are looking forward to our ministry in Alaska with the Athabascan Indians. How
rewarding it is to live out God's will for our lives and, as a result, see people come to the
Savior. I know they will then be thankful too, that somebody cared enough to come and
give them the "Good News". The Lord is looking for people to "Stand in the Gap",
somebody to open the scriptures and teach and preach Jesus. I'm thankful to see people
still coming and completely surrendering their lives to Christ, in what I believe, are the
last days.
We are also thankful for the "Birthday of our King". Christmas is quickly
approaching. This is my favorite time of the year as it is a time of reflection and teaching
about our Lord. As a child, Christmas was just a time of many presents and even some
disappointments as I opened every present and still didn't find the one I "really" wanted.
I was looking for satisfaction in things, things of this world. Those of us that are
gloriously saved know that I was never going to find that one last thing. It just was never
going to come. I was always going to be disappointed. I can tell you now, that I have
found what I needed. That type of disappointment I will no longer experience nor feel
again. I traded that old feeling of emptiness for a complete fulfilling of the Holy Spirit.
Now, I have 3 beautiful kids of my own to share this life with. Deut. Chapter 6 tells us
that we are to teach our children "diligently" about the things of God. Everyday we are
to take the opportunity to point our children to things of God, the very real person of
God. My prayer is that "my God" will become "their" God. They are learning to pray
and are seeing answers to their prayers. It is great to watch as God works in their lives to
show His power to them. They are convinced he cares for them and is watching over
them. Their love is growing for the God of Moses. I believe they to will be able to
endure, as seeing him who is invisible. (Heb. 11:27). They too can say "they have not
seen God at any time - but, they have seen God". He has made his presence known in
their lives by answering "their cries for help". We all should be calling "Abba Father".
Christmas is a time when we "all" need to see God as a family.
We have just seen some answers to prayer in our lives. The Lord opened up the
doors to a new Missionary home near our church. It's only a half hour away and this
allows us to stay active and involved in our home church. We received many answers in
this house situation. The location is great and the rent ($0) is even better. Praise the
Lord!!!!
Thank you all for your love and many prayers towards our ministry and lives. We
wish you all a "Merry Christmas".
In Christ's love and service,
