Prayer Letter From
The Pines to Alaska
Ecclesiastes 3:1 “To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven”
This was a busy month of meetings. We started out in Alabama with a meeting scheduled in Kimberly, Al. and another about six hours south in Seminole, Al. However, it was all God’s timing. God knew we wouldn’t make both meetings so he decided to keep us in Seminole an extra day. About an hour away from our destination in Seminole, we noticed the lights dimming and a red light on the dash. Yes this is what’s supposed to happen when your battery stops getting charged by the alternator. Not a good feeling. We had to cancel our meeting in Kimberly for the time being only to reschedule 2 weeks later. Praise God! Since being stranded at the church in Seminole, we were asked to present the ministry there in greater depth that Sunday night. Things worked out for us the following day also. We were led to a garage for repairs (George didn’t have any tools with us) and a man put on a new alternator and a much needed belt (both had 100,000+ miles) for a price cheaper than we could have done it for ourselves. God is good!
We then scheduled a week of meetings in North Carolina, Virginia and Pennsylvania. We were “planning” to leave on Friday afternoon in order to drop our camper at Bro. Sammy Allen’s camp meeting for the following week. On our way back from up north, we thought it would be easier to just go as far as Georgia to meet up with our camper then planning to travel 3 hours further to Empire, Alabama (Back home at the Ranch) . As we were about to hook up to our camper, our water pump started making a “raunchy” noise. Yes, this is what happens just before it is going to stop working. With the help of Bro. Patterson, George was able to replace it in order to leave the next day to make the scheduled meetings on time. We had to leave without our trailer to save time. We had plans of returning to get our trailer to make the end of Sammy Allen’s Camp. However, we were unable to get back in time due to a storm on the way back. We ended up having a quiet Thanksgiving dinner back at Bro. Patterson’s ranch.
For the last couple weeks we have been circling a few churches in the area and calling local churches for meetings. We haven’t been able to schedule any due to their busy holiday calendar. One church, north of us, did have us in to share; which was a blessing. It seems to be the season to wait on the Lord.
We are hoping to schedule more meetings up north again. A fellow missionary in New Jersey requested George to add Heating and Air Conditioning to his home for a prophet’s chamber. The Job is ready to be done shortly after the first of the year. We are trying to make calls to pastor’s in that area for meetings while we are in the area. We hope on our return to touch base with a few pastors that said they will help us with a list of possible meetings after the first of the year. Please pray with us for these meetings.
Prayer Requests:
1. Continue to pray that the Lord continues to guide us to where he would have us.
2. Pray that the Lord will touch the hearts of the churches we are in for the people in Alaska in order for us to get there by the springtime of 2012. Then pray we find housing before we freeze to death in Sept……just kidding…..not really….
3. Continue to pray that the Lord would send individuals across our path in order for us to share their need for Jesus in their lives.
Praise; we have been able to see others come to know the Lord as their Savior while on deputation. This helps us to stay in the fight for souls.
Ga 6:9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
May the Lord bless you with a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
